It is that time of year again, time to register for Summer and Fall classes!

Your degree is in your hands. If you are completing an Associates of Applied Science and then planning to enter the work force or if you are completing the Associate of Science degree and then transfer, you will get more out of your degree if you pick class times and electives you want to take.  Academic Advisors are here to help and guide you, but ultimately your degree is in your hands!

Taking summer classes can be a great way to knock off a couple classes and get you one step closer to earning your degree.  With the exception of accounting classes, most business and economics classes in the summer are offered online.  Allowing you to have the flexibility of summer while still earning credits.  Summer registration is now available online!

Fall class registration planning sessions are available now.  Make an appointment to meet with an advisor and get cleared to register online when classes open on March 18th.  Or make an appointment to do your schedule with an advisor.  Appointments for in person registration can be made starting Friday March 4th. Make an appointment by going to MYFM and clicking on make an appointment. Here are some tips for a more successful advising appointment:

1. If available make your appointment with Business Professor Alex Henderson.

2. Get in early, and get the classes you want.

3. Before your appointment Review your graduation checklist or DegreeWorks worksheet  then go to the online schedule and pick which classes you want to take and at what time.

4. Don’t forget your Learning Objective, even if nothing has changed since last semester, SUNY requires you to print your learning objective each semester.  Directions for printing your Learning Objective will be emailed to you after you make your advising appointment.

Planning to transfer?  Alex can help with that too!

Pick A Business Degree That Is Right For You

First of all, congratulations on choosing the The FM Biz Hub for your education. You like your business classes but you are not sure where to go from here. First, take a look at our new Degree page and read about the programs we offer here at the Biz Hub. You may want to consider talking to one of your business professors and telling them what you like about business and listen to their advice. Ask yourself what do you want to do after leaving FM; this will help you pick a type of program that fits your needs. A degree program can be your ticket to a career directly after FM or a great stepping-stone to transfer your credits to a four-year school.
